Cat Trick Films, an up-start production company based in San Francisco, needed help building a brand. Schapiro collaborated with the three primary filmmakers to produce a fun, fresh portfolio site to showcase their talent and attract new clients. The site uses Javascript to simulate folders opening and closing, allowing the viewer to show and hide portfolio categories.

Big Beach Films worked with Schapiro to create a site for their film "Our Idiot Brother" in 2011. In 2012, they asked Schapiro to build a site for their upcoming release, "Safety Not Guaranteed." These sites helped Big Beach find a distributor for both Sundance featured films.

Stanford's Department of Art and Art History asked Schapiro to design a catalog for their MFA thesis show. The book includes essays by Art History PhD students about the MFA work.

Entanglement Technologies, Inc. came to Schapiro with a specific challenge. Create a logo that spoke to the quantum measuring techniques they develope. With models of complex laser locking processes employed at Entanglement Schapiro simplified the representation to create the particle-cavity logo.

Schapiro's clients wanted a website to announce their wedding and celebration plans. Together with the client, Schapiro created a fun, colorful print invitation and website that reflected the bride and groom's personalities.

City Notes: San Francisco
Terry Warner Press
Book Production

City Notes: San Francisco, written and researched by Jesse Coburn, is a compilation of often overlooked landmarks and histroric sites in San Francisco. Schapiro produced the hand bound volume and collaborated on the book's design. City Notes: San Francisco was published by Terry Warner Press in 2011 and is the first of a series.

Chris Neff Goldsmith

Visual Identity / Web Design

Chris Neff's one man jewelery design and fabrication operation presented a unique challenge: create a brand that speaks to handmade production and give that brand an electronic home. Schapiro and Neff worked closely to redesign the Neff logo and build a site that reflects the company's unique point of view. The resulting visual identity, based on Sears Roebuck era catalogs, sets Neff's small company apart from other small scale jewelry designers.

ALAMANC
Identity & Print Design

ALMANAC is a compilation of work from MFA and PhD students in Stanford University's Department of Art and Art History. Students in both the art practice and art history programs organized the book in order to cement the relationship between theory and practice within the Department. Schapiro worked with these students to develop a visual style for ALMANAC that supported an array of submissions from diverse fields.

Recess Activities INC. is dedicated to fusing art practice with exhibition. The nonprofit gallery provides emerging artists with street-level studio space open to the public. The new logo Schapiro created expresses the playfulness essential to the Recess brand. The logo is currently used for print and email communications.

Anders Johnson is a sculptor and installation artist working out of Providence, Rhode Island. His webspace content needed reorganization and editing. Schapiro produced a new site that emphasized displaying Johnson's portfolio of work.

Good Country Kino

Goodcountry Kino, a fledgling production company based in New York, needed a visual identity in a pinch. Schapiro gave Goodcountry Kino a logotype that brought interest to the new company but could also evolve as the company grew.

PAINTINGS

In 2008 Schapiro produced a series of drywall paintings. Schapiro is interested in creating concurrent flatness and illusionistic space. These floating murals also reflect his interest in using construction materials in fine art applications.
